Patch 4.0.6 PTR: Latest Tol Barad changes
January 29, 2011 at 12:30 AM

Filed under:

Tol Barad was promised some changes earlier this month by Cory Stockton, and with the updated patch notes for January 28, 2011, we have our first look at the changes coming to the battle for Tol Barad. Attackers and defenders will be receiving bonuses to their capture speeds based on the number of keeps they currently own. Tol Barad attackers will get a 200% increased cap speed bonus when they control 2 of the keeps, making taking the final keep easier against a zerging opponent. Tol Barad defenders will be get a 200% increased cap speed bonus when they control all 3 keeps, in order to force the attackers to try and pry one keep away from the defense and hold it to prevent their bonus.

So far, it's a good start for Tol Barad changes and I hope that as these new bonuses are tested on the PTR we see a sharp rise in the balance in Tol Barad. Now we're just waiting on the changes that make the towers and siege engines compelling at all.

Also included in the Tol Barad notes was a change to the way the dailies, herbs, and minerals work during the battle. Now, resources will only spawn during the "quest phase" of Tol Barad -- the time when you can do the winner's dailies. There will now be warnings 5 and 1 minutes before the quest phase ends to alert players to turn in quests and get out of the micro-dungeons.

You can view the latest Tol Barad patch notes either past the break below or in our patch notes update post.

Patch 4.0.6 PTR patch notes updates for Jan. 28
January 29, 2011 at 12:18 AM

The official patch 4.0.6 PTR patch notes were updated yet again this evening. The updates to the patch notes aren't particularly long. Combine that with a certain placeholder blog post (which will certainly be removed soon) on the official Battle.net blog, and signs are good that the patch will be releasing soon. The team will be hard at work this weekend cleaning up and assembling our patch 4.0.6 resources, but until then, you'll need to be content with these patch note updates.

Updates to Tol Barad (which Mat McCurley will be discussing shortly), fishing, jewelcrafting and more are behind the break below.

WoW ruined my life
January 27, 2011 at 8:36 PM

I had it all.

I was popular, people looked up to me and I had a nice girlfriend.

Then this game came into my life and everything changed. I locked myself up inside of my house and shut myself out from the rest of the world. I started to play Wow for long hours, ignoring the outside world.

Well the just of thing. i played wow since ending of 05 and now i 'm hear today. First of which, i want addictive at first so the few years i wasnt even playing it now i do. But there is a way, it may take you off fore a few months or more but here you go. for some people this is hard but go to your main character and do this with the others and then press "delete character," type in delete then walk away and turn off the screen....once u do that walk away and ask someone if they can hit the enter key for you and so it's done.
